2005 -- July's snippetsI won't be there coz it's just after I've moved house, and I'm going on strike (like chilling in my garden) for a month. But, I totally recommend the Funky Raw Festival...
10th July -- Very quick update. House is gorgeous!! Can't work the conservatory lights for some reason, but I'm sure I'll sort that. Also, cats lived here and I'm allergic to them, so face fell off for a bit. Am airing it. Think I need new carpets, though, to really get them out. Wasn't planning on that for a while. I'm having to fill the pond in because it's too dangerous for Evie, so we moved the frogs today. We had five in there. Me and Charlie Chops put them in the village pond down the road. We had a box of frogs! How groovy is that? Evie loves her new home, especially the fact that it's not all clattery on the floor like Dada's flat. Carpets and England a total necessity. Am so not into wooden floors. Give me a good shag pile any day. Anyway. Really just wanted to also say I'm OK, as a few people have been asking after the pointless attack on innocent people in London. Am not in London, am about 60 miles away. Mate's are there though and it's not nice having wars at all. How on earth can we say that we're the most advanced species on this planet when *some* people kill others when they have nothing to do with the reason for fighting in the first place? There is a higher way to resolve these issues!!!!! Right -- massive blessings to all affected -- really hope this doesn't happen again. Got a new baby in the family, too. Little Dylan Elliot Humphrey was born on the day I moved, Thursday 7th July. He's in an oxygen tent at the mo, but we know he'll be OK. He took so long to come into the world, he has to stay for his 3 score years and 10 now. Anyway -- big congrats to Chris and Julie. 25th July -- Just to let you know that Dylan is now out of intensive care and has gone home with his mummy and daddy. He'd breathed in meconium and it was on his lungs, so we didn't know what was going on with him for a while. Big thank yous to all of you who offered love and support for him -- every bit of it was needed and cherished. Had a 2 page spread in The Sunday People's magazine Take It Easy yesterday. Muth and Jen are inundated with work as a result, which is fab. Funny article, though as they'd got the basics right but then built this who'e fabricated story around it, and it was nothing like my life! Am not complaining, though as it was a very positive piece and it's Evie's first time in print!!! Done so much today, tidied all the garage and my office ready for a delivery, and have only got 2 more boxes to unpack. Hopefully I'll find my kettle lead, as it's not in any of the other billion boxes I've unpacked. Am loving living here -- it's so peaceful, fields in one direction, little village in the other. Lisa Currants came to stay at the weekend and we went to a pub in Granchester. She wanted to see Geoffery Archer, but after 3 glasses of wine she convinced herself that he was from Oxford, then after the fourth she insisted he was from Granchester. Ah, Lisa Piza. Have had an interesting time with friends and so-calleds recently. Am now feeling like if I haven't known someone for years and years, then I don't want to know them, as they can be users and abusers. V glad Lisa is an old friend, and couldn't use me if she tried. She's adopted my dad as hers, so I can't shake her off anyway! So want to get the house decorated. Got someone to do it for me, but need to get Evie's parties out of the way. We're having her naming ceremony (gonna plant the placenta -- been frozen for a year and I need to defrost it the day before to photograph it as I've not seen it -- under a monkey puzzle tree). Then it's her 1st birthday party, and then we're having a housewarming party. All on the same day. Not sure if I'll stay awake beyond 11pm, I just can't do that these days as Evie gets me up early and I don't stop all day. Ooooh, had great smoovie with suma in it today. Very very amazing food, that. And it's even fabber when mixed with maca. Mmmm Mmmm! |
