2005 -- February's snippets
1st February -- Goodness, I've been a busy bee. Working on a few major projects at the mo -- all will be revealed at the end of the month or the beginning of March. All to do with the business, which is going totally bonkers and we're expanding so quickly. It's great -- my evil plan of getting into the minds of the masses is working. HAHAHAHHAHAHA! Hmm, really. My beautiful plan of altering the consciousness of the nation is working. That's better. Must put Mr Hyde in a sealed bottle and cast him into the sea. Now then. An Evie moment. She's taken to sucking her thumb. She used to fall asleep on her booboo, but then one day she put her little girl's thumb in her mouth and started sucking that to fall asleep. She's not quite worked out that her fingers can fold down, so she sticks them up and they inevitably poke her in her eye! Very cute as you can imagine. I have to say, it's getting better by the day being a mummy. Am thinking that if I had my life again I'd find a nice young man and have lots of babies in my early twenties. But I didn't do that, coz I was depressed then and thought the world was too cruel to bring a baby into. Glad I'm not depressed now, as Evie has been the best thing that's ever happened to me. And EVERYONE loves her. We went out the other night as Stevie was in the UK. Hadn't seen him for a few years so thought it would be lovely (and it was). Anyway, we were at The Rainbow in Cambridge and Evie was her wonderful "good" happy self. Apart from pooing all up her back (which was my fault as I still can't get the hang of nappies), we had a fab night, and as usual, a couple from another table came up and said what a a good baby he was. I went "she" and then went "I really should put a ribbon in her hair". Well, she was naked but for her new nappy as her clothes were all skidded, and being the most disorganised mother in the world I didn't have anything spare on me. So the other really cute thing Evie does is play "bat". We pick her up upside down and she cracks up laughing and automatically crosses her arms across her upper chest. Very vampire like. She loves this game. We've learned some great games at Baby College -- I so highly recommend this place to everyone, as it shows you why certain games are good for development. Plus if you've an old mummy like me, you may have forgotten how to play with babies because it's so long since you were a child. I love it, and am very glad I joined, even though I've not made any mates there coz there's only two of us! OK, Evie's awake now, so must be motherly. It's my last Chinese massage/acupuncture today so Matt's mum's coming over for babysitting love duties soon and I'm not even dressed. Gosh, it's 11:11! Time to pray for peace... Lots of love to you all xxx Oh, another thing before I forget... Evie's been doing is going "Mum" a lot. Am sure she's not supposed to yet. She did it the other day and I thought it was a bit of a fluke, but yesterday she did it about 10 times, and said "Dad" once. I'll keep you posted on that one!! A family in turmoilSunday Feb 13th -- I've been asked to make my readers aware of this case. It's all to do with a US family who have 4 healthy children (raw, home schooled etc), and who had one child born with a disease so bad these babes rarely make it. This babe made it for a bit longer than most, but when he died, the family were torn apart. The four children are in care and the parents are facing prosecution. It's a very sad story, and these guys need support to fight this case. Please read it and see if there's anything you can contribute to them, even if it's just a prayer. Thanks. The day before the day beforeI got a massive bunch of flowers yesterday! Only the 12th of Feb, so it was two days to go before I should have got them but I'm off to mother's for 2 weeks, so I guess Matt had to be organised. Good. I love them and I deserve them. A bit off the edgeTreated myself to a brand-new copy of Get The Edge by Tony Robbins off of Ebay. Only trouble is, the personal profile you get to do on th'internet was out of date already. Of course I mailed them and I got no reply. So it appears the guy who I bought this off probably found it in a skip.... Living in a boxI spent most of last week over at my house packing boxes. I'm still not done. The day goes like this: Evie wakes me up saying "Beef Quiche" at the light coming through the window. We play, we have a bath together, she has booboo. Evie sleeps, I run round like a blue arsed fly for 30 minutes and pack a box. Evie wakes up and wants to play for about 3 hours. We do that, she has booboo, she sleeps for 30 minutes... and so on. So I got lots of playing done. Luckily, Matt's mum came over on Thursday to help, so she had Evie while I packed. But still have so much to do, we're going over today to do more. How have I got so much stuff? Oh, and I tripped over on a roll of bubble wrap and fell down, catching just under my arm on a table corner. Ow, that hurts still. Seem to have mislaid the NHBC certificate and got suitably patronised by solicitor's secretary for it. I'm like "I've been there 6 and a half years, you lose things, don't you?" and she's like "Well, some people do." Right. Yeah, people like me who have too much to do and didn't got to College Organise like her. Obviously. Event-uallyYeah, got May event details on the web and you can book your place today! Gret deal from camp site, with lovely luxury caravans, too. Kate Wood's going to be here too. Check it out!! OctogirlDid I tell you one of my names for Evie is Octopus? Like she's got this great big head brain thing and this jelly body, just like an octopus. I also call her Souxie Soux all the time, coz that's what she feels like, and we were watching the Brits last night and the real Souxie Soux was on there! I jumped for joy! And I jumped for more joy when my first ever pin-up (well before he saved Africa, I'm old remember), Sir Bob did two fab songs that he's known and loved for: I don't like mondays and Rat trap. Fab guy. Green headGot this obsession with brocolli and kelp powder, mixed in the Vita-Mix with raw tahini and garlic and water. Mmmmm. 21st February -- just a quickie as Evie's on my knee trying to type. Lost my voice, as I caught a cough off of my nephew then had 3 nights without sleep as we went up to Hull and the beef quiches were so light there, Evie kept waking up and going "Beef quiche" at silly hours. And it was like having a fight with filo pastry staying at Auntie Shirley's bed, there were so many covers and I just laid awake worrying all night that the'd fall on Evie's head. |
