2003 -- July's snippets Saturday 19th July -- Well guys, I'm back home after a dead good and mammoth tour. If I met you at one of the events, hello! If I didn't, let's do it next year, OK? By the way, I need to plan a USA tour for next year, so if you're interested in hosting me, then email Val in the first instance, and we'll see what we can sort out. OK, so I've been nagged about not updating my snippets. I couldn't do it while I was touring, but am here now. So you want to know a bit about the last month? I'll put some photos up very soon, and that'll explain more than my words can. It's great being back home, got to do lists on my to do lists again, but that's the way aha aha I like it. Also *everything* is broken in my house. Washing machine, hot water, car CD player (Vera ate an ABBA CD that wasn't mine, and she won't give it back. If I have to listen to Voulez Vouz one more time...), phone was on the blink, web site went down. As house and car are both about 4 years old, this is obviously the time that things start to rot and go funny. Maybe I should just move? Yeah, right! Am waiting til I've found dream home in the country before that. And of course a little villa somewhere hot. Mucho manifesting to be done here. So, the book's selling well. Apparently I was in the London Evening Standard a couple of weeks ago, but I've not seen it yet. It was an article on the Innertalk breast enlargement CD. Also, if you're in the UK, watch out for an article about raw transformation and my book in Woman's Own -- it's a double page spread with recipes from Detox Your World and Shazzie's detox delights. It comes out on August 5th and is the August 11th issue. So I'm getting the book into the media gradually. It's doing v. well and am gearing up for my second reprint already. Just got to get some compatibility between printer's mac and my PC. Oh, it's like VHS and BetaMax all over again, this. Am off to the Big Green Gathering in a couple of weeks. I'll be working for Sky on the solar-powered raw food stall, so do come and say hola to me if you're around. Oh, got pics sorted from my hols -- check them out! Also got a few misc pics up there. Hmm. Now then, we went to Germany for the raw conference in Nuremberg. Very interesting. Germany's got loads of trees! Never knew what it'd be like as a country as that was my first time. When we were having a break on the way to the conference people driving by kept staring and waving at me. I must have looked like some famous German bird. Hope it wasn't a porn star or something! It was quite freaky, that. Anyway, at the conference I just did a little ten minute talk about my raw life. During the talk I mentioned Vera, and realised that in the past 3 and a half years of being raw, the most lengthy and intimate relationship I've had has been with my car! Must do something about that! We also went to Holland, so I saw lots of people who I'd met at my event a few weeks earlier. It was our last event of the tour and we were all quite worn out but still on one. Felt weird to leave the guys behind and obviously I cried. I realised that being in a tribe like that (there were seven of us) felt so real and right. Made me also realise that I have to stop living and working alone so much. I've decided I'm turning into something other than an old woman who smells of pee ;-) So we didn't sleep that last night as we had to get the gang off to the airport, then Tony and Dave took me and the van to the ferry. We said our goodbyes there and me and the van went off to the UK. I got on the ferry with a blanket, laid down, went straight to sleep and woke up in England. Don't remember a thing. And that's kind of how the whole tour was. I put 2000 miles on my car in the UK, yet don't remember really driving. Funny life, isn't it? So for the next half of the year I'm working on a new book, a co-authored book, and updating Shazzie's detox delights. Am also sourcing many new products for www.detoxyourworld.com and am promoting the book. That should keep me out of trouble! Well, it's a bit of an emotional day today. We're going out to a park in St Ives to celebrate the life of Steve, who died around this time last year. Puts me back it touch with a load of old friends who are all really nice and loving people.
