The Bridge Of No Return
Most adults in our world are living in Duality Hills. We’re trained from a very early age to stand there, being detached from our emotions and real needs. Do you perhaps remember being told: “Stop crying and you can have a sweet”? As adults, we pacify ourselves in more damaging ways; the very convincing, “If I do an extra ten minutes at the gym, I can have another glass of wine” being a prime example. Seeking to fill that hole inside ourselves in this way tends to lend itself to unbalanced relationships, work in unfulfilling jobs, and then go binge drinking at weekends, and so on.
When you begin to discover the divine you hiding under that painbody, you may find yourself moving from Duality Hills and crossing The Bridge Of No Return. This can feel shaky, and as you look at all the security and comfort you are leaving behind, you may wonder if you’re making the wrong choice. But the bridge has a very specific name for a reason because once you have got to the midway point of it and can see Unity Mountain, you can’t go back, no matter how many times you try.
The Bridge Of No Return is tricky to negotiate, and you will sometimes turn to Duality Hills and wistfully wish you could return. You can hardly believe the paradisiacal image of Unity Mountain is real. It can’t be, it must be a trick... but you can never go back. You must cross, no matter how “painful” it feels to leave Ye Olde 3D Worlde behind.
What is personal transformation?
Personal transformation is all about stepping through the fire, regardless of the burn you feel because you've tasted something wonderful on the other side and you want more of it. It's about diving deep, even if you don't know how much oxygen you have left because the view down there is so great you don't care about anything else. It's about leaping, knowing the safety net will appear because you are the universe in a human's body -- and you know that when you step out of your own way, you can create absolutely anything imaginable.
Personal transformation isn't a choice, it's a deep knowing that you deserve and need to be bigger, more connected and functioning at a higher level than you are right now. You need to spread your wings, regardless of what you think is right and sensible and you just have to go out and explore the big wide you.
Can I ask you?
What are you offering to the world? What's your life like right now? Do you spend loads of your time worrying about money, about getting stuff done, about bringing a child up "in a world like this"? Well, this is normal, we all do it, but when we do it to the extent that we become frozen in fear, then our own personal development and personal transformation suffers and gets put on hold. When that happens, we start to get down, depressed, ill and in that awful downward spiral of "life's so hard, I just want out, but I can't do that to myself". It's a trap, and it's caused by the mind becoming too strong, overpowering the feelings of the heart, instinct and intuition.
And of course, there's a way out of that downward spiral trap. But you must feel the need for it. Like I said, it's not a choice, it's a knowing, it's a burning desire that life is more than what's been presented to you. That you are more than you were conditioned to believe. It's the thing that makes you smile when you wake up in the morning and it's the thing you will go to the ends of the earth for, once your mind isn't dominating your every move.
What's keeping you in Duality Hills?
My personal transformation home study course Divinity In A Box helps you cross The Bridge Of No Return, and also helps you discover the real you, under the layers of the not real you!
But don't wait until you have time to do a seven day course, start heading for Unity Mountain right now with this little exercise that will make you feel great about your life right now:
Let me ask you… what makes you feel good? Great? Amazing? Write down three things and come back to me.
If you don't know what makes you feel good anymore, how about some of these things:
Being barefoot on the beach
Making food for loved ones
Getting and giving hugs (you can't have one without the other!)
Adventuring through the forest, foraging as you go
Gardening, making food grow on your doorstep
Playing with your kids
Playing with your grown up friends
A cuppotea and cake
A good film
Some gooooood lovin', you know what I'm talking about
Helping people you don't know
You know, when it comes to making your own list, just go for it. Write down all the things you really love. Actually, write more than three, write ten, twenty, a hundred! Just keep at it until you know on paper what makes you tick. If you get stuck, go back to when you were five… what did you love to do? What did you love to do aged ten, who were you then? What would that kid say to you now about your life? What can you remember from the time when you were the person without worries and responsibilities? Go within, enquire and write, write write!
And then get ready to transform
If you know me, you'll know how much I promote raw foodism, but I know not everyone wants to be raw.
However, I want you to hear me out for a minute just because it's an important part of personal transformation, and especially this exercise.
If you are serious about personal transformation, I want you to make a promise to yourself and aim for 50% of your diet to be raw. Are you willing to do that? It could look like adding some chopped fruit and seeds onto your morning cereal, eating a big salad with your lunch, snacking on celery and cucumber crudités dipped in raw tahini with a dash of tamari, and adding alfalfa sprouts and avocado to your evening meal. It's easy, and here's why I'm asking you to do it…
If you eat at least 50% raw food, you'll need 2-4 hours less sleep and down time.
So, what do you do with that extra time? You do your list above, don't you ;-) You do the things that make you buzz, feel alive, feel here, feel present and feel like you are in love with life again.
Now, you can do this today, you can do it now. Just get more raw food into your diet, if you haven't already. This will give you more hours in your day, and with that time, you get to do more of what you love. And that will shuffle you nicely along The Bridge Of No Return so you can get a good glimpse of Unity Mountain. Then there'll be no stopping you!
Don't be put off by the simplicity of this exercise. You will get real and instant results. Just try it and see!
And remember, if you ever think personal transformation is impossible, just ask any passing butterfly what she used to look like.
